Terms of service

The terms you are agreeing to.

Last updated February 2026. CheckRisk.io is operated by SidarGlobal LLC, Washington, D.C. Ordering a report means accepting these terms.

1. What the service is

CheckRisk produces written due diligence reports on companies and individuals from open sources, public registries and, where you request it, vetted human inquiry. Each report reflects the material found by the stated methods at the time it was prepared.

CheckRisk is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. No attorney–client relationship arises from your use of the service, and nothing in a report is a legal opinion or a recommendation to transact or decline.

2. FCRA and permissible use

CheckRisk is not a consumer reporting agency, and reports are not consumer reports under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. You may not use a report, in whole or in part, to decide eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA or by comparable law in your jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

Every matter is screened before research begins. We decline matters we judge to be for stalking, harassment, intimate-partner surveillance, discovery of a person's address or whereabouts for personal purposes, unlawful discrimination, or any purpose prohibited by paragraph 2. A declined matter is not charged, and any payment taken is refunded in full.

You confirm that you have a legitimate business, legal or transactional reason for each matter you open, and that the instructions you supply are accurate.

4. Method and its limits

Research is AI-assisted and reviewed against the sourcing rules stated in each report. Findings are marked as verified, corroborated, unverified or alleged, and reports state their own limitations. Absence of a finding means nothing adverse was located by the methods used; it is not proof that nothing exists.

Registry and court data may lag real events, and some jurisdictions do not publish beneficial ownership at all. Where identity cannot be resolved with confidence, the report says so rather than guessing.

5. Fees

Fees are fixed per matter and stated before you pay: Level A, $750; Level B, $1,500; Level C, $5,000. Research begins once payment clears. Optional source inquiries are quoted separately and only run when you request them.

Fees for completed reports are non-refundable. If a matter is declined at screening, or if we fail to deliver a report, you are refunded in full.

6. Confidentiality and your data

We treat your instructions as confidential and do not disclose the existence or content of a matter to the subject or to any third party, except where compelled by law. Handling detail is in our privacy notice and security page.

7. Your use of reports

A report is licensed to you and your firm for the matter it was ordered for. You may share it with your client and their advisers. You may not resell it, publish it, or present it as your own independent investigation.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SidarGlobal LLC's aggregate liability arising from any matter is limited to the fee paid for that matter. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost opportunity, arising from a decision you take in reliance on a report.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, and the courts of the District of Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
